Dormitory

Student residence

North Bay High School provides a safe, comfortable, and welcoming dormitory for students from more than ten countries around the world. The dormitory is managed by a full-time administrator, 24-hour security, and furnished with single beds, desks, and lockers for each student. The administrator requires students to abide by the school’s dormitory rules and regulations, which help students develop good time management skills and a quality living environment.

HOMESTAY

North Bay High School also helps students from over a dozen countries around the world by arranging homestays and providing a comfortable and safe living environment for them. Students will be able to live and work with native Canadians, which will help them integrate into their new lives and improve their communication skills. The host families we work with are experienced, friendly and have been selected by the school. In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our homestay families, we need to do the following:

  • All adult members of the host family provide proof of a clean criminal record.
  • Prior to the student’s arrival, the counselor will physically visit each host family to ensure safety and authenticity of information. After moving in, we regularly check the students’ actual living conditions.
  • Ensure that students are cared for like a family member.

Note: If you plan to stay with a Canadian homestay family, please be sure to submit an application form to the school before you leave for Canada.
